Tropical in Bristol: 12 units tested over 6 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Bristol.
Coil life, liquid cost and the tropical habit
We run tropical the same way in Bristol: same pod kit, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you are looking at tropical in Bristol, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pod kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Below is the run we did for this search: 12 units, pod kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a tropical pod kit really costs in Bristol
We run tropical the same way in Bristol: same pod kit, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested tropical in a pod kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in the UK, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 2–4 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a tropical bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Treating the advertised £59 entry kit as the real cost when refills run £1.83 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tropical tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pod kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
UK rules cap e-liquids at 10 ml and 20 mg/ml, with batch codes on every bottle. Shipping of nicotine to Bristol runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Wholesale lines to the UK need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a pod kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Bristol: about £1.83 per 10 ml liquid plus £59 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tropical the budget price and the premium price can sit within £1.83 per 10 ml once 2–4 business days is counted.
Why does tropical taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the tropical blend itself harsh.
