Coil life, liquid cost and the licorice habit
Licorice pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 12 units and 6 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Most people searching Nicotine Salt in Bristol are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long licorice tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a licorice pen device really costs in Bristol
The honest read on licorice: 12 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested licorice in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 2–4 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is 20 mg/mL in the UK, not a suggestion.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Bristol, since tanks and pods go first.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why licorice tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised £67 entry kit as the real cost when refills run £2.88 per 10 ml.
- Mixing licorice with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
